The best dance music of the 80's could not happen just by chance. It had to have something to evolve from and the 70's disco was the perfect start. 1980 saw the beginning of synth sampled music, some four on the floor beats, with a funky electro vibe.
1980 ushered in some of the 80's best dance music artists as well. Donna Summer who was known for 70's disco rode the 80's in a wave of groove inspired hits. Queen took a chance on a funk disco sound with "Another One Bites The Dust". Blondie gave one of the biggest dance hit's of 1980 with "Call Me".
